Spinal Decompression
Therapy

Most mechanical injuries to the human body involve compression, to some degree. When we consider the forces of gravity, coupled with years of degeneration spinal decompression, therapy (if conducted by a knowledgeable physician) may be amongst the most beneficial treatments for spine and nerve longevity.

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-invasive treatment method aimed at relieving pressure on the spinal discs, nerves, and surrounding structures. It is commonly used to alleviate symptoms associated with various spinal conditions, such as herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and facet joint syndrome.

Mechanical Spinal Decompression involves the use of specialized equipment that gently stretches the spine. The patient is typically secured onto a traction table or a similar device, and the equipment applies controlled traction or decompressive forces to the spine. This stretching action helps to create negative pressure within the spinal discs, which may promote the retraction of herniated or bulging disc material, relieve pressure on compressed nerves, and improve circulation to the affected area. In addition many patients have reported significantly improved brain function, decreased anxiety, decreased depression and improved sleep quality. This may be attributed to the fact that decompression therapy allows for improved blood flow to the brain and spinal cord.

Imbibition: Imbibition is the key component process of decompression therapy that is overlooked by most physicians and patients. It is not reproducible outside of a medical facility and a knowledgeable Doctor. Imbibition refers to the process by which a substance, typically a liquid, is absorbed or taken up by another substance, usually a solid, through capillary action or osmosis. In biological contexts, imbibition often refers to the absorption of water by biological tissues, such as plant cells or cartilage.

Dr. Amin Javid’s approach is to identify and treat the fundamental cause of pain and discomfort, rather than simply treating the symptoms. Dr. Javid has hundreds of extremely satisfied patients, whose lives have been transformed from their treatment at Beverly Hills Spine and Rehabilitation.
